My 10-Day Detox Journey: What Happened When I Ate Only Vegetables

When I joined Kenza Holistic Nutrition as a wellness practitioner, I made a commitment to walk the talk. I didn’t want to just advise people to eat better. I wanted to feel it in my own body.
So I challenged myself to do something simple, natural, and deeply rooted in our food philosophy. I committed to a 10-day vegetable-based detox using fresh, local, and unprocessed ingredients.

Why I Chose This Cleanse
In Uganda, we’re blessed with vibrant, healing foods. But in the rush of modern life, we often trade them for processed quick fixes. I wanted to reconnect with food as medicine. No powders. No starvation. Just plants in their purest form.
My detox plan was simple. Raw salads made from everyday ingredients like cabbage, cucumber, tomatoes, lemon juice, avocado, and carrots, all seasoned with a pinch of black pepper and a lot of love.
What Changed in Just 10 Days
By Day 3, I felt lighter. Not just in my body, but in my mind. My digestion became smooth and regular. Bloating vanished. My skin felt fresher, my energy lifted, and I started sleeping deeper.
By the end of Day 10, I had naturally lost 3 kilograms, moving from 76kg to 73kg. But weight loss wasn’t the biggest win. What truly mattered was how I felt more present, more in control, and more connected to myself.
